Entry Buffet

I love Goodwill. I usually make a trip about once a month to scout out their great furniture selection. About a month ago, I found this antique buffet and I had to have it. I've been looking for something to go in our entryway and this was it! Guess how much this beauty cost??? You'll never guess so I'll just tell you...$40!!! Yes, I said $40. I know, pick your jaw up off the floor.

I love the old dainty legs!

My friend Coop told me about a small business here in Katy where you can get old furniture refinished for a very reasonable price. So, I picked out a paint color and sent the buffet away for a makeover...

I love it!! It's glazed and antiqued and perfect!! I went shopping around my house to find stuff to put on it and I'm pretty happy with the end result. I want one bold colored piece to set on top, but I haven't found it yet.

I love the details!

I'm itching to go back to Goodwill for my next great find!!!

Family pictures

We had a photographer come out to my parent's house when we were all there for Christmas so we could get some good generational photos! They turned out great considering it was FREEZING outside and one little girl with a leopard print skirt and pink bow in her hair, who shall remain nameless, was not cooperating. Not one bit. I mean tantrum throwing, leg kicking, screaming, alligator tears, etc. Still, we got great pictures! Thank you Lisa Marshall!!

Christmas 2010

We spent Christmas at my mom and dad's house in Florida this year! We had a whole week of talking, laughing, cooking, eating, playing games, playing with the babies, and spending time with special family and friends!

Before we left we decorated a tree at our new home. I didn't really want to decorate our house since we wouldn't be here, but Jason said we had to have a tree at home for Logan.
It turned out beautiful, but I can't even begin to count how many broken ornaments we had this year between a curious toddler and 2 big dogs!!

Logan was really curious about this big tree and why it was now in our dining room. We don't have a dining room table in there yet, so we use this space as a dance floor mostly. She loves to watch herself in the big mirror. I think she thought the tree was imposing...

But she grew to love it!

This is before we went to see Santa. She was so happy and in such a great mood! :)

Until she saw that scary man with the big white beard. She. was. terrified. She had a death grip on me and I know you can't hear it from the picture, but she was screaming her little lungs out.
This is as close as she would get.

Maybe next year.

So, when we got to Florida we wanted to get a picture of Logan and her cousin Kade. We tried like monkeys for what seemed like hours to get these two smiling and looking at the camera at the same time. It never happened. But they're still cute!

Logan spent half her time kissing Kade! She is so in love with her little cousin! It was amazing how sweet and gentle she was with him. She would say "Hi Kade!" and give a big kiss every time she saw him.

On Christmas eve, Grandpa read Logan the Night Before Christmas. She absolutely LOVES to read, so this was so much fun for her!

Christmas Morning!! Look at Mr. Kade in his Santa suit!!!

Santa brought Grammie and Grandpa a big red wagon to keep at their house for the grandkids to play in! Logan loved it!

She had a lot of fun with her presents this year! I think she was overwhelmed by all the excitement! Her favorite part was all the pretty bows on the gifts. She loved to tear them off and promptly stick them on her head!

She loves this Strawberry Shortcake football.

And then back in the wagon!

And the farm animals puzzle

And kitty cat keyboard

Needless to say, Little L had a wonderful Christmas!

Grammie and her babies!

Love her!

My parents have a big backyard with lots of room to play so we spent a lot of time out there! We did not, however, come prepared for how COLD it was there! I mean, it's Florida, for goodness sakes! So we bundled up the best we could and braved the weather! Yes, I'm wearing my dad's camo jacket.

Look at this precious baby boy!

More playing for Logan:

We had a wonderful week! I am so blessed to have a family that loves each other so much and loves to just be together!! I can't wait til we can see each other again!
I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!
Love,
Erin
